Jenni’s Moment
Jenni’s younger brother Jason has Down syndrome. Growing up, Jason was one of the first students with Down syndrome in their school district. Because of this, he felt isolated and excluded. After taking part in Special Olympics and youth leadership opportunities, there was a change. Jenni and Jason witnessed inclusion for the first time. As a result, Jenni had inspiration to create the PALS program and the “Congratulations Project”. This is an initiative where people with Down syndrome write letters of hope. They get sent to new parents of babies diagnosed with Down syndrome. In this video, we hear real letters that parents received.
